Telecommunications provider continues its support of women’s basketball and the next generation of players for the 2026/27 WNBL season.

Tangerine is proud to continue its support of Bendigo Spirit for a second year, returning as a partner for the 2026/27 WNBL season.

The partnership reflects Tangerine’s commitment to supporting women in sport and the communities behind them, while celebrating the players helping inspire the next generation of young women and girls to pick up a basketball and dream big.

For Tangerine’s CGO Rick van Emmerik, continuing the partnership is about supporting a team that means so much to its local community.

“Bendigo Spirit represents so much of what makes sport special. It brings people together, gives the community something to get behind and gives young players incredible role models to look up to,” Mr van Emmerik said.

“We loved supporting the Spirit last season, and we’re proud to be back for another year. When young girls watch these athletes competing at the highest level, they’re not just watching a game. They’re seeing what could be possible for them one day.”

Technology also plays an increasingly important role in how fans experience the sport they love. Whether it’s watching a favourite Bendigo Spirit moment, learning how to perfect a shot, organising the family for game day or keeping up with the team throughout the season, connectivity helps bring fans closer to the action.

“At Tangerine, our job is to keep people connected to the things that matter to them simply,” Mr van Emmerik said.

Bendigo Spirit General Manager, Dan Jackson, said;

“Strong, long-term partnerships play an important role in helping our club grow and continue creating opportunities for women and girls in basketball. Tangerine’s support shows a genuine commitment to the Spirit, our fans and the wider Bendigo community, and we’re proud to have them alongside us again for the 2026/27 season.”

WNBL Life Member and five-time WNBL Champion – including three with the Spirit – Kelsey Griffin, said the team valued having Tangerine in its corner for another season.

“Support like this means a lot to us as players. It helps us compete at our best, connect with our supporters and show young girls across Bendigo and beyond where basketball can take them. We’re excited to have Tangerine back with us and can’t wait to share another season with the community.”

With another WNBL season tipping off on October 15, Tangerine will be cheering on Bendigo Spirit both on and off the court and celebrating the players inspiring the next generation along the way.
