Tangerine is proud to announce a new two-year partnership with WNBL team Bendigo Spirit, with the pair uniting to champion change and create impact both on the court and within the community.

Central to the partnership is a shared commitment to social impact, as such, Tangerine will be the game day partner of Bendigo Spirit’s collaboration with the Orange Ribbon campaign, which raises awareness of domestic violence and supports victim-survivors.

The colour orange - a key feature of Tangerine’s brand, is globally recognised as a symbol of hope and a future free from violence against women and girls, as part of the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

Tangerine is deeply committed to supporting the community, with a strong focus on addressing the serious issue of domestic and family violence.

This commitment will be brought to life during the Spirit’s Round 7 clash against Adelaide Lightning at Red Energy Arena on Sunday 30 November. The game will support the Bendigo City Council’s campaign as part of Respect Victoria’s broader initiatives in the region.

The match will raise awareness and funds for Annie North, a Bendigo-based organisation providing crisis refuge and transitional support to women, children and young people escaping domestic and family violence.

Rick van Emmerik, Chief Growth Officer at Tangerine, said:

“We’re proud to partner with Bendigo Spirit; we believe in the power of sport to unite and inspire and this partnership is a reflection of that belief."

“The Orange Ribbon match is a powerful initiative, and we’re honoured to help raise awareness and support those impacted by domestic violence. Our collaboration with Bendigo Spirit builds on our work with the Telco Together Foundation, helping extend our impact into the community.”

Dan Jackson, General Manager of Bendigo Spirit, said the partnership is a powerful alignment of purpose and passion.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Tangerine to the Bendigo Spirit family. This partnership goes beyond the game - it’s about standing together for something bigger. Tangerine’s support of our Orange Ribbon match and their commitment to raising awareness around domestic violence shows true leadership. We’re proud to work with a brand that shares our values and is ready to make a real difference in our community.”

Through these commitments, Tangerine continues to build on partnerships and community engagement to ensure their contribution extends beyond connectivity.

Tangerine’s Domestic and Family Violence Action Plan outlines the practical steps they are taking to raise awareness, provide access to support, and embed understanding of domestic and family violence within the workplace and broader operations. This includes clear policies, staff training, and initiatives designed to ensure our people and our customers feel supported when they need it most.

In working with Bendigo Spirit, Tangerine is also furthering their strategic focus on supporting women in sport.

Tangerine is proud to play a role in helping to change the underrepresentation of female athletes in sponsorship deals. Through partnerships like this, more women are receiving the backing they deserve to compete at the highest level and make their mark on the world stage.

As part of the agreement, Tangerine will also feature prominently on the left and right sides of the Bendigo Spirit playing strip across all home, away and finals matches.

Plus there will be game night sponsorship, a player partnership with club legend and five-time WNBL Champion, Kelsey Griffin, and a four-part content series designed to engage fans and highlight the values shared between the two organisations.

The Spirit’s title defence gets underway on October 19, when they host fellow 2024-25 Grand Finalists, Townsville Fire, at Red Energy Arena in Bendigo.
