What do I do if a power outage is affecting my internet service?

If a power outage is affecting your internet service, what you can do depends on your nbn® connection type.

If you are not sure which connection type you have, you can check by entering your address on the Tangerine nbn® page.

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)
Some properties have a Power Supply Unit with a backup battery. During a power outage, this battery may keep your internet service running for a limited time, usually up to a few hours. Backup batteries are not supplied by Tangerine. If you need a replacement battery, refer to the relevant support FAQ for guidance.

FTTN, FTTB, FTTC, HFC and Fixed Wireless
These connection types rely on mains power inside your property. If there is a power outage, your internet service will not work until power is restored. Keeping a charged mobile phone can help you stay connected during this time.
