Walking together for hope: Our partnership with Pancare

Across Australia, many charities are doing important work to support people through some of life's toughest challenges. For Tangerine, one cause has become particularly close to our hearts: supporting Australians impacted by upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancers through our partnership with the Pancare Foundation.
For those who are newer to Tangerine, you may not know how this partnership began or why it means so much to us.
Many years ago, Tangerine lost a close friend and colleague to pancreatic cancer. This loss inspired our team to take action and partner with Pancare, helping to fund vital support services and research for pancreatic and other upper gastrointestinal cancers - Australia’s deadliest cancer group.
Pancare is dedicated to supporting Australians affected by upper GI cancers which include pancreatic, liver, stomach, oesophageal and biliary cancers, and raising awareness for this cancer group that urgently needs greater attention. Because behind every diagnosis is a person.
And surrounding that person are partners, children, parents, siblings, friends, colleagues and communities whose lives can be profoundly changed. That human impact is one of the reasons our partnership has remained so meaningful to us.
Our partnership isn't simply about putting the Tangerine name alongside Pancare, it goes much beyond this. It's about helping raise awareness, supporting fundraising and bringing people together behind a cause that matters.
One of the ways we do that is through Unite for Hope, Pancare's flagship community fundraising event for Australians impacted by upper GI cancers. In 2026, Tangerine proudly marks five years as Presenting Partner of Unite for Hope Melbourne, reflecting our ongoing commitment to the Pancare community.
And there is something incredibly powerful about walking side by side.
Some people walk for someone they love. Some walk in memory of someone they have lost. Others walk because they want to support a friend, colleague or family member, or simply because they believe Australians affected by these cancers deserve greater support and hope.
Whatever brings people to the starting line, Unite for Hope gives us an opportunity to stand together or, as Pancare puts it:
“We walk for more than remembrance. We walk for what comes next.”
That's a sentiment we are proud to get behind.
Walking together for hope is always a special moment in our partnership with Pancare, it brings people together to walk, connect, remember and look ahead with hope.
This year, Team Tangerine once again joined the Pancare community at Princes Park in Melbourne, walking alongside people and families impacted by upper GI cancers.
Every person who takes part has their own reason for being there. Together, those individual stories become something much bigger: a visible show of support that reminds people affected by upper GI cancers that they are not facing their journey alone.

While Unite for Hope brings the community together for a single day, our support for Pancare continues year-round.
Our support for Pancare continues beyond Unite for Hope. Through our ongoing partnership, when an eligible Pancare community member signs up for a new Tangerine nbn® plan or mobile SIM-only plan through the Pancare community links, we contribute directly to the foundation (learn more here).
It’s one small way we can help support Pancare’s much bigger mission: improving support, raising awareness and creating hope for Australians affected by upper GI cancers.
And that’s something we’re proud to keep walking towards, together.
